Trauma and the Child e-learning course
This course will introduce you to key elements of understanding the prevalence of trauma, and its impact on children and families. With the right supports, children can and do recover from experiences of trauma and adversity.
Throughout this course you will work towards using your understanding about trauma and its impacts on children and families to explore an approach that will help you provide support.
This course is for anyone who works with, or cares for, children. GPs, teachers, clinicians, carers and health professionals will all benefit from exploring the common themes and principles that underline a trauma-informed approach to children.
This course explores a trauma-informed approach to understanding the prevalence of trauma, and its impacts on the child and families. It briefly explores the implications of this approach to caring for, or working with, young people. It does not explore trauma-specific therapies.
