Towards a comprehensive child mental health system: Opportunities for a coordinated system of support

An Emerging Minds webinar

Wednesday 25 February 2026, 10:00 – 11:30 am (AEST) | Online

Children and their families engage with a range of workforces and systems every day, with many playing a role in supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing. While access to specialist care is important, there are great benefits to expanding opportunities to reach children and families earlier in their journey and to respond to concerns in a coordinated way.

Through consideration of data and findings from recent research projects, Emerging Minds has identified opportunities to promote improvements to competency, collaboration and coordination across health, education, social and community services.

This webinar will consider the scope for systems to improve mental health support for children and their families across the spectrum of services. Emerging Minds team members will discuss their work on a competency framework to support development of child mental health professionals, in alignment with the organisation’s vision for a comprehensive child mental health system. The team will also explore the role that sectors and organisations can play in bringing this vision to fruition for the wellbeing of children and families.

This is the final webinar in a three-part series titled Towards a comprehensive child mental health system: Exploring data and policy. You do not need to have attended previous sessions to engage with this one. It is free to attend, but registration is required.
