Who is Emerging Minds?
For over 20 years, Emerging Minds (previously the Australian Infant, Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Association – AICAFMHA) has been dedicated to advancing the mental health and emotional wellbeing of Australian infants, children, adolescents and their families.
Emerging Minds develops mental health policy, services, interventions, training, programs and resources in response to the needs of healthcare professionals, children and their families. These include online resources, practical books, DVDs, online and face-to-face training. We partner with family members, national and international organisations to implement evidence based practice into the Australian context.
What is the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health?
The National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health has been established to assist professionals and organisations who work with children and/or parents/families to have the skills to identify, assess and support children at risk of mental health conditions.
The Centre incorporates three key components
- an online workforce gateway (this website!) where you can access free training, practice guides, webinars, tools, information and news.
- a national network of regionally-based Child Mental Health Workforce Consultants to support workforce development, systems change, information exchange and collaboration
- and a communication and knowledge translation strategy to support the diffusion of evidence into practice.
