Upcoming webinar series: Towards a comprehensive child mental health system

With 13% of Australian children from birth to age 12 experiencing a mental health condition4 and 24% of children entering their first year of school vulnerable in at least one developmental domain,5 it’s important to build adaptive workforces and systems that can meet children’s needs.

But workforces can’t respond alone. They must be able to work within a comprehensive and coordinated system to improve child mental health outcomes.

Towards a comprehensive child mental health system: Exploring data and policy is a new three-part webinar series from Emerging Minds. The series aims to equip participants with research and data to build organisational understandings of:

  • children’s mental health and wellbeing
  • the needs, capabilities and availability of the workforce
  • the role that organisations and sectors can play in a comprehensive and coordinated child mental health system.

The webinars are intended for leaders across the health, education, social and community services sectors, as well as practitioners with an interest in workforce development.

Towards a comprehensive child mental health system: Exploring workforce availability is the first in the series and will be held on Wednesday 29 October 2025, 10:00 to 11:00 am (AEST). This webinar will outline national data about child mental health and the availability of workforces across Australia.

While we recommend attending all three webinars in the series, you will still be able to engage with the content if you attend one or two sessions. The entire series is free to attend. Further information, including guidance on how to register, is available on the webinar series page at the following link.
