Connecting healthcare providers across Queensland – moving knowledge, not patients.

Each session consists of a 15-minute didactic presentation by a specialist followed by a case presentation from participating clinicians.

These sessions are held on a Thursday from 8 am to 9 am (AEST).

Series 1 (weeks 11-20): 11 October until 13 December

Series 2 (weeks 1-10): 31 January 2019 until 04 April 2019

Series 2 (weeks 11-20): 25 April 2019 until 27 June 2019

Description:

Behavioural and mental health issues are a growing health and economic burden globally. 1 in 6 children in Queensland are developmentally vulnerable with identified prevalence rates for children with behavioural issues, anxiety, ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, bullying, self-harm, mood disorders and gender identity issues.

Additionally, children’s psychosocial wellbeing, educational attainment and quality of life can be severely affected if not addressed in a timely way.

This innovative, 20-week tele-mentoring series uses collaborative education & case presentations by joining GPs & other health clinicians together with health specialists, to improve knowledge and capability when supporting children with challenging behavioural & mental health conditions.

By attending this series, you will become skilled in effective behaviour and mental health management, within the context of the family and community environment.

GPs are eligible to acquire free category 1 CPD points *.

*This clinic consists of 2, 10- week series. A minimum attendance at 6/10 sessions is required to gain CPD points, accredited by RACGP/ACRRM. Medicare rebates are also available for GP case presentations.
