Why evaluate the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health?

Led by Emerging Minds, the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health (henceforth the National Workforce Centre) contributes to the conversation around child mental health and what supports families, as well as the capability and development of the workforce that supports them.

Using rigorous and innovative research and evaluation methods, the work of the National Workforce Centre is informed by various forms of evidence – including research, practice wisdom, and both lived and living experience.

Emerging Minds’ Research and Evaluation team manages and conducts the ongoing evaluation of the National Workforce Centre. Through collaboration between the internal team and external collaborators, this evaluation seeks to understand the effectiveness of the National Workforce Centre’s processes and impacts using rigorous and transparent methods.

Evaluation of the National Workforce Centre was designed and commenced alongside it’s establishment in 2017, with a Process and Impact Evaluation evolving over time.

Emerging Minds reports annually to the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing on National Workforce Centre evaluation findings, while using formative findings internally to inform program development.
