13 HEALTH – Health advice over the phone

Queensland Government, Australia, March 2021

The service aims to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within community to access timely health assessment and advice.

The service operates from 8am to 8.30pm, 7 days a week and is staffed by a team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Registered Nurses.

The service is particularly helpful for those patients who wouldn’t normally access a health service or emergency department outside of hours and may complement existing healthcare arrangements.

All patients need to do is phone 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) and ask to speak with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurse.
