How does a community recover from the devastating impact of a bushfire? What role can the school and the community play in supporting children, young people and families on the path to recovery? Staff from Strathewen Primary School share their wisdom and experiences, from setting up a temporary school three days after the fires, to continuing to support their children and families ten years on, Jane and Dianne provide invaluable insights and learnings about their experiences. We also hear from April who was 8 years old when the fires went through her community, and her mother Rachel about the impact on their family and what has helped them through.
