Emerging Minds and Mental Health Professionals' Network (MHPN), April 2026

In this webinar, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander panellists guide practitioners on how to balance clinical and cultural knowledge, address common implementation challenges, and embed culturally informed approaches throughout therapeutic and care planning processes.

The second in a two-part series, this session aims to strengthen practice approaches when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families by demonstrating the clinical application of the social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) framework.

Learning outcomes:

  • Demonstrate the clinical application of SEWB.
  • Describe how to apply SEWB at different levels of service.
  • Identify how SEWB applies to diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and identities.

Led by Dana Shen (Aboriginal Cultural Consultant), the expert panel includes:

  • Lou Turner (Pitjantjatjara father)
  • Shirley Young (Aboriginal social worker)
