Amplifying the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people understand the problems they’re dealing with better than anyone else, along with how best to solve them. But too often their voices and perspectives aren’t valued or even heard.

Our new fact sheet explores ways you can overcome this problem and include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the decisions that impact them. It was co-created with two Aboriginal young people, Kahli Regan and Tannielle McHugh, who also shared their thoughts on nurturing the wellbeing of Aboriginal youth on our podcast.

This is the final fact sheet in our series with the University of Western Australia. Other resources in this series explore culturally safe research processes, positive partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and the need for psychology education to reflect the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
