Replanting the Birthing Trees: Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families during pregnancy and birth

Emerging Minds and Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), Australia, March 2024

GPs play a crucial role in the mental health and wellbeing of families during the perinatal period. Based on a case study and informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of ‘being, knowing and doing’, this webinar will explore the practice skills required to effectively work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families during pregnancy and birth.

This webinar with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) explores stories from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women about how this ancient wisdom can be noticed and applied in contemporary practices. You will have the opportunity to reflect on what interrupted this ancient wisdom, and the obstacles and opportunities that exist in the perinatal birthing space.
