It is a commonly held belief that young children are immune to the negative impacts of trauma, but while this is not only false, this group may be the most vulnerable in terms of experiencing adverse effects and outcomes as a result of a traumatic experience.

This fact sheet outlines some of the common trauma reactions that may be seen in children aged 2-4 years, as well as outlining signs that may indicate further assistance is required.
